…unless you’re in Ireland.
I heard a quote one time from a buddy: “Luck is the combination of opportunity and preparation.” It really stuck w/me. My Old Man was meeting up with his brother and sister in Ireland to celebrate his 60th birthday. TJ was on a bro-trip to Paris. (who goes there w/dudes!?!) I was on vacation for a week. Hmmmm….the wheels turned quickly on this one. Pitched an Ireland roadtrip to TJ and 4 days later I was on a plane to Dublin. TJ popped over from France. Hired a car, and game on! We surprised my Dad one night at a pub called Gus O’Conners in Doolin out on the beautiful west coast. He had no idea I was coming. The Guinness were mighty tasty that night!
Ireland is beautiful…charming…and cozy; exactly what you’d expect it to be. Gubb and I put about 800+ kms on the rental car zipping around on narrow-ass farm roads. I’d definitely go back to Ireland…but not w/a dude. The place is actually way too romantic for bro-time.
