Alta Is For Skiers

Headed up to Alta solo thinking I’d ride for a few hours then call it a day.  Everyone I rode the lift with was super friendly and stoked to be skiing on a Thursday.  I did about 5 runs with this guy named Dave who showed me some great turns in soft snow.  He left at lunch time, then I rode up with a guy named Sam.  He’s on his yearly 3 month winter vacation chasing powder in his incredibly customized van.  Great dude who’s  high on life and led me to some more great snow.  Met another dude Matt and he joined us.  Turns out, he’s roaming around in his RV for a month or two.  It was refreshing to meet other guys who make skiing a priority and view it as cornerstones of their lifestyles.  I broke out the SLR for the last few runs and talked the guys into photoslutting for me.  I’m pretty happy with the results.  Alta was pumping; an unexpectedly awesome day I won’t soon forget.

A man and his van. The thing was awesome!

A man and his van. The thing was awesome!  It had a wind turbine, wi-fi booster, heater, microwave, storage, and ample sleeping room.  Bravo, Sam.

Such a good day, I slapped a sticker on the Yota.
