Lil Bro at SFO

Matt had a layover in San Fran on Monday.  He had never been downtown, so I took him to all the cliche tourist spots and a few that weren’t so cliche.  Highlights included…

…an iconic landmark…

…Irish Coffees at the place that invented them….

…a local brewery…

…and a cool spot for airing out your undies. He was impressed.

The very next day, me and my new best friends hopped on a KC-10 and flew to our new home away from home….in a magical place called Southwest Asia!  Here we find ourselves doing all sorts of fun things like having midnight chow, sharing one room, and refueling other planes.  It’s just swell.  All kidding aside; this deployment should be a good one.  I have a great crew, and the weather is really pleasant; plus, I’m gonna stack some major cheese.  It’s weird being back here for  deployment #7; lots of good memories, lots of good friends, but at the same time I can’t believe I’m out here….again.  These stints are such blessings and curses.  They are what you make ’em; and this one’s no different.  Here’s what I’ll be looking at for the next 2 months:

thirsty for gas

flown more hours over this country than the US

Hope you’re settled into a good routine. I’m up late…the girls and Devin are asleep, but I’m wasting time online. Tomorrow is voting day…I wonder who will win?!
