Solo in Espana

A few hours after not getting gored, I hopped on a train and slept the entire way to Madrid.  I found a hostel smack dab in the middle of the city and have spent the last day and a half wandering around, eating my face off, snapping photos, and butchering the Spanish language.  It’s strange being alone; especially without a cell phone.

This city has some pretty buildings:

another statue of some Spaniard

I can’t remember the names of most landmarks…how sad is that?

Plaza Mayor. (it says it on the building)

Royal Cathedral

These two cracked me up. Who says romance ever dies?

read my book in this park

Royal Palace

I looked down a random alley and caught this

This place had every kind of food imaginable; a great vibe too

I don’t usually take pics of my food, but this one’s for you A$

Off to Budapest tomorrow.

So which do you like better… Madrid or Barcelona? And I didn’t know Budapest was on your itinerary…I’m jealous! Can’t wait to get a full run down at the beach in 2 weeks! Oh, and I like the picture of the food 🙂

To be honest, I didn’t really see enough of either to get a solid appreciation…but I’d have to say Barcelona since it has a (nude) beach.

Bet it was hot in Madrid. The evening was probably ok. Never did Madrid in the summer. Anxious to see what you think of Budapest. And which you will like better, Buda or Pesht. I did not enjoy the food picture by the way. Two weeks!
